Dr. Nancy Kennedy

“Dr. Nancy” started her career in dentistry a little later than most. A stay at home Mom to three, now grown, sons she began here pursuit of a career in dentistry at the tender age of 35. After attending St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish for three years she earned early acceptance into the Dalhousie University Dentistry program. Graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) she received numerous accolades, including awards for proficiency in Periodontics, interest and high achievement in public health or outreach dentistry, outstanding achievement in dentistry and most coveted a Memorial prize for professional and compassionate treatment in the care of her patient family.

Following graduation and time in general practice, Dr. Nancy, recognising a passion for treatment of children, was accepted in a dental residency program at the I.W.K Health Centre. This training included rotations through various hospital departments together with extensive training in conscious sedation and experience in an operating room setting.

Having had a negative experience as a child, Dr. Nancy prides herself in owning a clinic that not only provides a positive dental experience but also an educational one for parents.

When not providing care for her little patients, Dr. Nancy enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, camping and traveling to see their three grown boys and beautiful grandchildren.

Dr. Logan shares Dr. Nancy’s vision of a gentle and caring dental practice environment for children.

A Halifax native, Dr. Logan began her education at Dalhousie University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. After she spent a few years travelling she enrolled in the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University, where she graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

During her dental training, Dr. Logan’s instructors noticed she worked very well with children. They encouraged her to apply to the Pediatric General Practice Residency Program at the IWK Health Centre. She was accepted into the residency and began her career in children’s dentistry.

Dr. Logan has been a clinical instructor at Dalhousie, and she participates in the annual interview process for prospective dental students. She has been invited to speak before the Northern Nova Scotia Dental Society and the South Shore Dental Society. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association, where she is the topic monitor for Early Childhood Caries and First Tooth First Visit, the Ordre des dentistes du Québec, and the Canadian Dental Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Logan enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family and friends. She enjoys skiing and sailing. She is an avid student of languages and enjoys traveling.

Dr. Natalie Burke

Dr. Natalie Burke

Dr. Natalie Burke was born and raised in Halifax and loves to call Nova Scotia home. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biology, Natalie was accepted into Dalhousie University's Dentistry program. She was awarded an entrance scholarship plus earned a number of other awards during her four years of study. She graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2003.

After graduating, Natalie worked in a family dentistry clinic in New Glasgow and soon realized that her passion was in the treatment of children. In 2006 Natalie joined an established paediatric dental practice and limited the scope of her practice to children and teens. Two years later she decided to open her own practice to service children from all over Nova Scotia. Natalie later transitioned her business to Dr. Kennedy so that she could spend more time with her family.

Natalie has attended dentistry courses specific to paediatric dentistry all over North America and has been a member of the American Association of Paediatric Dentists for many years. This extra training has allowed her to offer sedation to children and teens who experience anxiety. When not at work Natalie is busy at home with her husband, son and daughter, 2 dogs, and one cat and enjoys spending time playing tennis, hiking, skiing, and traveling.
